We want to start from the basis that transmitting stories is a fundamental part of everyone's life, since the first writings in the world (until now have been discovered) dates back to 5000 BC and consist of clay tables found in Uruk (present-day Iraq) and were written in cuneiform language, but this was not by what they communicated day by day but by oral language and therefore through stories were being told events were being told , as our ancestors did when they could not read.
Since immemorial times, the time of telling stories by the fire were magical, and had an atmosphere to enjoy, to dream, to relax... For quite a few years at school we have lost that magic that is created around the storytelling and we have turned it into a obligation moment when you can't lose a detail because then you're going to be asked questions about it. With this we have managed to become something more banal, losing that wonder of being able to travel adventures with the characters or even become one of them.
The moment of transmission of literature must be as special to them as it is for us. In order to create that symbolic and perfect connection between history and each of us we need to put an essential ingredient, love. Tell the story in a brief way and with words that can understand us.
We are now in a situation that requires twice as much effort when narrating since we do not have their faces in front of us to be able to know if we are creating concern, if they have any doubts or on the contrary if they are falling asleep. On the other hand, although at this very moment we are not the ones who decide what may be an ideal time for the story, they have the technology so that they can repeat again and again these moments.
But we're not going to be the ones who give up at this point. So the first thing we're going to do is explain the three forms of literary transmission:
The storytellers, they were born we don't know when or where, what we do know is that they have a spell of universal influence. They give in to the interlocutor who narrates the story, adapting it to their own word and with their own touches. Whoever had the greatest gift was in charge of giving some of the stories to the rest.
It was sometimes recounted by verifying, especially when it came to the adventures of a hero or saint, thus born songs or ballads. Without the art of storytelling, myths, nor epic literature, would not have been born before the creation of the printing press.
The narrative preserved a great literary flow, thanks to the folklore of the peoples, legends and tales remained, through the oral word. The narrative fact is as old as man's power to communicate through the word. The narrator is the main socializing agent playing his role through artistic deliveries.
The greatest virtue of storytelling is that without visual support, we are able to imagine perfectly in our mind’s history, thus developing imagination and fantasy.
The narration with book this technique is very similar to that of storytelling, since it is about narrating and not reading, so we have to know the story very well to be able to memorize it and go to it by narrating and adapting according to the attention and questions of our little ones. The narrator therefore recreates the story through the illustrations. The best books for early childhood education would be books with very good illustrations (they should not be stereotyped) or books with little text and language adapted to their age. They must also answer to their evolutionary moment and their needs. On the other hand, if the text requires it, we could make adaptations.
Book storytelling is perfect for the first stage of children (2-3 years) to be able to work the sequence of images and the iconic reasoning. So we "count" the illustrations to count the illustrations and not the other way around.
Reading the pre-lector child is in a moment of discovery, research, eagerness to learn and know, so we have to empower the child to feel free to imitate, know, discover... without feeling compelled. The children begin to read with their finger at the time of the story, after which they manage to decipher words and try to read everything that falls into their hands. So we have to enhance the development and refinement of this skill and thus we will be able if there is no position or obligation, we will make true readers.
To do this, it is not just the school that can enhance this. A child who grows up surrounded by books and who are treated in an attractive, motivating way... you will have many points to be able to remain a great reader and you will love reading.
By gathering all the information we can say that the moment of transmission of literature is a special moment in itself, although we must foster calm environments so that children can focus on the story we are telling. Faced with this new reality we can only recommend that you do not set aside the time to tell the story or the moment of reading, since, in addition to our first goal that is to enjoy we will be enhancing the imagination and the love of reading.
Storytellers are a fascinating technique for this, we can pass on stories that we have read before. It is always recommended that they be reliable sources to avoid stereotypes. Although kindergarten teachers end up being authentic compilations of folk texts, we can extract reliable versions for example from Cervantes Virtual Library.
The idea is not to read them as they are written but in our own words. To do this you have to read it several times, internalize it, recreate it and imagine to get it integrated before transmitting it. Therefore, as we narrate we have a great advantage in being a narrative and that is that we can look at our listeners and go sneering to ask questions of the children and make them participate, or yet see if they are tired and expedite, or on the contrary, fascinated and spread.
You can also tell stories imagined by yourself, ideally, we have a scheme integrated into our memory, but, as we have said before, we can improvise, depending on the questions and answers of the children
This mode of transmission of literature is the one that favors the imagination the most since it has no support or reference of books and it is, they who recreate its characters. You can interact before, during and after the narration, through explanations or open questions, never coercing your answers.
Book storytelling is a narrative, but it's done with a book or visual support in front of us as we're going to narrate the illustrations so that they can start decoding images. It is important to leave them later somewhere where they can then continue to explore it. Thanks to this in the first cycle of early childhood education we can bring children closer to the iconic and symbolic reasoning by expanding their abilities.
Oral reading is perfect for delaying the contents of the books to children, so that they can enjoy them when they are not yet able to do them for themselves. Our primary goal is to get the child to enjoy and get the child in touch with the actual reading. When reading it it it is important to be expressive, but without going too far... to familiarize the property with the proper intonation of what is being read.
For the re-submission of any of them we do not need any particular space. We just need to put the urge to be able to connect with our listeners (in this case the children) and a place where we have no interruptions or there is too much fuss. If we want to give it a special touch at some point we can use some symbolic element to help capture the attention or we can set the space. It is certainly essential that it is an environment of trust so that through open questions and explanations we will be able to know what the experiences of the children have been.

00:00 / 05:34

It is not new that school should be a place to share and meet; a spacious, bright space, created by and for children. It must be a place for children to be excited and not to leave; a place that favors and enhances their development, qualities, skills and abilities. The school is the place where a large part of your day will spend and therefore, the space, distribution and methodology must be up to the task. Psychology, organization and design must go hand in hand to offer the best and most complete training possible. We must leave behind the traditional to immerse ourselves fully in this experience of offering and creating, without forgetting that it must be something functional and aesthetic for our sensory system.
The educational space is a fundamental element within the teaching activity and therefore it is necessary to structure and organize it in an innovative way and that responds to the needs and interests of children.  We must bear in mind that the environment and layout of the center are fundamental aspects for learning, so they have to be reflected and planned by the teaching staff so that everything is in the same vein and children can develop without being overwhelmed and without anyone telling them what to do, how they should do it or where they should be at all times. In this way we will create environments free to be, think, do, explore, discover, feel... In this way, space becomes a teaching factor that completes the meaning of teaching-learning and that allows us to enhance the qualities and skills of children, their autonomy and maintain the motivation of the teaching staff.
Another of the fundamental characteristics of an educational space is the equipment and the teaching material that we will use. Materials should not be artificial; they should not overload children's stimuli or limit them. For this it would be best if the materials were natural or recycled. In this way we would not only be taking care of our planet and teaching them something valuable to children, but we would also be fostering their imagination and creativity with unstructured materials. Children are children and must learn to get bored without anguish or anxiety; they should know how to enjoy natural things like the sound that makes a stick when you throw it to the ground, they must learn to give a second life to their toys, personal objects and materials around them. We must educate children to be autonomous, independent and happy and for this we do not need the most expensive, "cool" and new things in the market. Not only children, we all learn from everything in front of our eyes, we just have to know how to look at it, appreciate it and use it to our advantage. And what better than to use nature to show them what they want to teach. Why are they going to learn theoretically how it grows, feeds and lives a flower if we can show it to them? We need them to make connections through what they so far know and the real experiences they are having. If they have the flower in front of them, they will learn to take care of it, respect it, value it... they're going to be able to feel it, smell it... It is a much more enriching experience than those who are often used to, but for this we need an educational space that responds to these questions.
A well-organized space can become a teaching factor since while it plays a teaching-learning situation, it allows us to create a stimulating environment for the development of students. But we don't have to plot or overload all the space as we would be limiting the growth and development of the child by not leaving him freedom (because he cannot move freely or because he himself cannot place on the walls what he considers or because he cannot be where he would like).
As we have said before, any space can be an educational space and therefore we must organize it according to the needs and interests of children, as well as our own beliefs and the methodology that we want to carry out. It is of no use that we have a space that responds to everything we have mentioned above if later the methodology that we are going to perform implies that children only simply make tokens and learn passively. The same is true if we have a good methodology but space and organization are not going to match it. Although it will always be better to have one of the two before any, what we have to achieve is to create a solid and safe line in which all things can happen automatically and naturally.
Children's learning ability is amazing, they do so in unexpected ways at any time of the day. Classrooms should be a perfect space to reinforce and enhance this. Therefore they must be a place of encounter between one another, it is a cozy space but that has its own personality, it must suggest action, changes, activity and of course, must be open to the world around them. However, the setting of the classroom should reflect what is being learned at that time or the methodological project that is being carried out, which will further stimulate the learning of children and allow them to fully get into the environment that we have created among all to continue exploring, discovering and learning.
However, if there is one thing we have learned in this project, it has been to adapt and adapt spaces to new realities or situations (which can also be done in a school). To do this we only need to have knowledge, organization, common sense and know how to look beyond (where you do not usually look at the people who stay in your comfort zone). We cannot forget that school must be a space where autonomy is fostered, it must be accessible, versatile and flexible allowing children to reach their full potential, develop their self-concept and where they achieve their goals. That is why pedagogy, design and organization always go hand by hand.

The Free Movement is given spontaneously and autonomously on the part of the child. It involves letting the baby move freely and without adult intervention. The baby is not placed in any position that has not reached himself /herself (except the initial, face-up) and is not required, encourages him or her to make any movement or achieve any position.
Development by autonomous activity is paramount in the physical and psychic evolution of any child. Through this activity they can live and feel different experiences that will help you to a correct and harmonious development, make your movements safer and more harmonious, your brain will mature better and you will be able to expand the knowledge of your space and possibilities to move. The free and autonomous movement of children or babies influences the development of certain attitudes, such as personal growth, creativity and responsibility.
In order for these activities to acquire a meaning we must reflect on the actual form of the adult, since the interest must always arise from the child, from his own motivation, thus favoring a good result. Therefore, the attitude of the adult should not intervene, leaving the little ones enough freedom to self-realize.
Society is generally unaware of the importance of free movement. Starting with parents, who from a general perspective (consciously or unconsciously), have very overprotected their children, do not let them explore or discover the world around them for multiple reasons, for example the fear of harm or because they do not know the importance of autonomous and free movement, among many others. It is important that, as we have said above, the adult acts as a spectator, that he lets the child move at his own pace, explore and above all, that he does not intervene in the movements of the child, because it will be this one who will act freely.
Creating environmental conditions for children to play is easier than it looks, even when home. One of the most important factors is to let the child move and play freely (depending on his evolutionary stage), leaving him space and the time it takes to do so.
As we said, it is very important that the child develops freely, moving and playing autonomously. If adults watch, we can see through the way they play and move, how it feels, what it needs, etc.
